Building Confidence Through Mountain Biking

This week, students headed out to Epping Forest for a mountain biking session, taking learning out of the classroom and into a more adventurous outdoor setting. Riding through forest trails gave students a completely different experience, with uneven paths, tight turns, and natural obstacles to navigate.

The session pushed students to stay focused and in control, especially when tackling rough terrain and building confidence on the bike. It wasn’t always easy, but that was part of the experience. Students had to stay patient, adjust quickly, and keep going even when things didn’t go to plan.

Being out in the forest also gave students a chance to enjoy a different environment, away from busy spaces, which helped many feel more relaxed and focused. It was great to see them supporting each other, building confidence, and improving as the session went on.

Overall, it was a positive experience that combined physical challenge with fresh air and exploration. Students came away feeling proud of themselves and more confident in trying something new.
