Reintegration
Reintegration planning begins from the start of a student’s placement in the SSP. Our focus is always on supporting a smooth, safe and successful return to the referring school.
Throughout the placement, the SSP lead works closely with the referring school, parents and carers to monitor progress and ensure consistency of expectations. Students receive regular mentoring and support to help them reflect on their behaviour, attitudes to learning and personal goals.
At the end of the placement, the referring school will receive a detailed end-of-placement report, which includes:
- An overview of the student’s engagement and behaviour during their time in SSP
- Details of mentoring and 1:1 interventions delivered
- Factors observed that may be impacting behaviour and learning
- Recommendations and strategies to support reintegration
Students attending SSP are supervised at all times. They remain within the SSP area during breaks and lunchtimes and do not mix with pupils from the main school. Lunch is provided on site, and students are not permitted to leave the school premises during the day. To support safeguarding and wellbeing, students are escorted off site at the end of the school day to ensure a calm and orderly departure.
The SSP aims to support students to return to their referring school feeling supported, prepared and ready to make a fresh start.
