A message from our Headteacher
Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
I am delighted to welcome you to Redbridge Alternative Provision (RAP) , a place where every student is valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
RAP is a school that provides support for pupils who have been, or who are at risk of, permanent exclusion from mainstream schools. The school has a separate provision (YEP) for up to 65 Year 11 pupils, who are new to the country, many of whom arrived unaccompanied. It also has a Vocational provision (RAPv) where pupils can complete vocational qualifications including Construction.
At RAP, our mission is to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We understand that each student is unique, and we are committed to offering tailored educational experiences that meet their individual needs.
About Me
My name is Rubert Jonker, and I bring with me over 20 years of experience in both mainstream and special schools. For the past 11 years, I have served as a senior leader and deputy headteacher in specialist settings. I am also an Advanced SENCO and have achieved the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). My journey in education has been driven by a deep passion for ensuring that all students, regardless of their background or circumstances, have access to high-quality education and the support they need to succeed.
On a personal note, I have also had the honour of playing international and professional rugby league, which has instilled in me the values of teamwork, resilience, and dedication—qualities that I aim to bring to our school community.
Our Vision and Goals
Our vision at Redbridge Alternative Provision is to create a community where:
- Every student feels safe, respected, and valued.
