Changing Perspectives at the Twist Museum

Our Key Stage 4 students took part in an enriching educational visit to the Twist Museum in London. The visit was carefully planned to complement curriculum learning and to provide students with a meaningful opportunity to engage in learning beyond the classroom. At the museum, students explored the science and psychology behind perception through immersive, interactive exhibits.

During the visit, students engaged enthusiastically with a range of exhibits that supported learning across several subjects, particularly Art, Psychology and Science. They explored how illusions are created, how the brain interprets sensory information, and how artists manipulate perspective, colour and space. The experience encouraged students to think critically, ask perceptive questions and make links between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. Students were especially inspired by the artistic elements and took lots of photos for their Art coursework project.

The trip had a clear impact on students’ confidence, curiosity and motivation. Follow up activities in school are already building on the experience, with students applying their learning to classroom tasks and discussions. This visit exemplifies our commitment to providing high quality, purposeful enrichment opportunities that deepen understanding, broaden horizons and support both academic and personal development.
