Creativity in Action at Ezra Studios

This week, our students returned to Ezra Studios to continue working on the Redbridge Alternative EP, including the artwork and music for the project. The focus of this session was creating a song about Redbridge Alternative Provision and the students own experiences at the school.

At first, some of the students were a little reluctant and unsure about what they could say. However, as the session went on, they began to realise that there were many positive things to reflect on. Conversations turned into lyrics, and soon the group was writing meaningful lines about their journey, growth, and the support they’ve received at RAP. It was great to see their confidence grow as they started to open up creatively.

The students were involved in the full process of making a song, from writing lyrics to producing the beat, recording vocals, and learning how tracks are mixed. This hands-on experience gave them a real insight into how music is created and showed them how creativity, teamwork, and technology all come together in the studio.

The session was both powerful and inspiring, and the song they created truly reflects their voices and experiences. We are excited to keep developing this project and can’t wait to drop the Redbridge Alternative EP soon!
