To celebrate the end of our six-week programme, our students took to the ice for one final ice-skating session and what a fantastic way to finish! The rink was filled with excitement, laughter, and a real sense of achievement as everyone put their new skills into action.
Over the past few weeks, students have learned far more than just how to skate. They’ve developed confidence, resilience, and self-belief, pushing themselves to try something new and keep going, even after a few slips and falls.
Some of the students shared their reflections on the experience:
“It helped me challenge myself and become more confident.”
“It helped me to be brave.”
Those words perfectly capture the spirit of the sessions. Ice skating has shown that progress happens when you step outside your comfort zone, and that every small improvement counts.
The programme has been a brilliant journey from cautious first steps on the ice to gliding with confidence. Most importantly, it’s shown our students that with determination and courage, they can achieve more than they think.
