Outdoor Learning Inspires

During this academic year, Redbridge Alternative Provision (RAP) has proudly achieved the Bronze, Silver and Gold Green Tree Schools Awards from the Woodland Trust. These awards recognise schools that inspire students through outdoor learning, environmental projects, and creative activities linked to nature and sustainability.

Art students in KS3 and KS4 have embraced creating artwork inspired by wildlife and natural surroundings.  Since September, students have taken part in a wide range of projects, including designing nature themed artworks for the art room, completing a six-week outdoor learning programme at Lambourne End, recycling materials, and learning about the importance of protecting green spaces. Their efforts have helped them earn certificates and contributed to the school’s growing environmental focus.

Art teacher Mrs Pandey said: “Outdoor learning and creative environmental projects have really motivated our students. Earning these awards has shown them what they can achieve when they work together and seeing their pride when receiving their certificates has been fantastic.”

RAP is excited to build on this momentum, with new projects already planned as the school works towards the Platinum Award. This positive progress reflects the school’s commitment to fostering confidence, creativity, and a strong connection to the natural world.
