RAP Pupils Take Part in Guinness World Record Attempt
On Thursday 8th October, the National Literacy Trust and the British Council aimed to set a new Guinness World Records title for the most people reading online in 12 hours.
The record attempt formed part of the Take 10 to Read campaign during the National Year of Reading 2026, with a simple message: whatever you’re into, take 10 to read into it.
RAP Key Stage 3 pupils took part in the challenge, spending 10 minutes reading Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman while attending an online webinar with author Nathanael Lessore.
Following the event, evidence was submitted to Guinness World Records for verification. The results will be confirmed once the evidence has been reviewed and officially approved, with participants due to be informed of the outcome by Monday 9th November 2026.
If successful, RAP will receive a Guinness World Records certificate!
