Year 11 Take the Wheel: Karting, Driving and Leadership
Our Year 11 students have started an exciting enrichment programme designed to combine new experiences, independence and leadership as they prepare for life beyond school.
The journey begins with go-karting, where students will experience the excitement of getting behind the wheel while developing concentration, quick decision-making and awareness. On the track, students will need to remain focused, follow safety instructions and learn that being fast isn’t everything – control, patience and making the right decisions are just as important.
The next stage will see students progress to Cardrome in Hornchurch, where they will have the opportunity to experience driving a car in a safe and controlled environment. This will give students a valuable introduction to driving while developing responsibility, confidence and an understanding of road awareness as they move closer to adulthood.
Alongside these experiences, Year 11 students are also working towards a Leadership qualification. Through the course, they will develop important skills including communication, teamwork, self-belief, leadership and self-management.
Together, these opportunities are about much more than having fun. We want our Year 11 students to leave RAP with experiences, skills, qualifications and greater confidence in themselves. Whether they are leading a team, taking control behind the wheel or making decisions about their next steps, the focus is on preparing them to take greater responsibility for their own future.
An exciting year ahead for Year 11 – learning, leading and preparing for the road ahead!
